Weather Week!!!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS THIS PART OF THE CURRICULUM WILL TEACH CONCEPTS SUCH AS WASHING HANDS, EXERCISE, HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES, AND SAFE BEHAVIOR. WE WILL INCORPORATE THEME RELATED MATERIALS AS NECESSARY.

Lesson Plans for Week of Sept. 7th

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day! We have exciting plans for this week!

Our theme is...SENSES!

Tuesday: Eyes

Circle time: Books and songs about eyes, as well as explaining their use and location.
Art: Create abstract art - allowing children to create their own masterpiece.
Sensory: Exploring bright colors, shimmery objects, and glow in the dark toys.
Movement: dancing and playing in front of the mirror
Activities: Puzzles to promote matching, exploring things we can see

Wednesday: Nose and Mouth
Circle time: Books and songs about nose and mouth, as well as explaining their use and location.
Art: cheerio art, painting with pudding
Sensory: Pudding play
Movement: singing and work on making noise with our mouths
Activities: taste test with different puddings, as well as exploring their scents

Thursday: Ears
Circle time: Books and songs about ears, as well as explaining their use and location.
Art: create faces from paper plates, allowing children to place eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
Sensory: What sounds do we hear, explore sounds using bells, shakers, rainsticks, clapping, singing, etc.
Movement: song and dance
Activities: listening games

Friday: Fingers/Hands
Circle time: Books and songs about hands, as well as explaining their use and location.
Art: create hand prints, paint with textured paint
Sensory: Explore different textures of the classroom along with specific objects like fur, leather, sandpaper, etc.
Movement: finger puppets
Activities: building blocks

Throughout the week, we will also incorporate the 6th and 7th senses - balance and movement.
